Wow! Our most precious day has finally come and we now have our sweet pea here at home with us! It has been a long journey, especially the last week has been the hardest, yet most rewarding days of our lives!

Everything started early at 4 am on Tuesday morning. I begged Josh to stay home from work telling him I didn't think it was a good idea for him to leave us that day. We didn't agree too much on that subject, but being the respectful, upstanding man that he is; he stayed to make me happy! We sat together in the living room timing horrible contractions for hours! By 6 pm I had had it and decided this was false labor! I jumped in the shower hoping the warmth would take away the horrible stabbing pains I was having! By the time I got out and sat down for dinner I had Josh timing them again, I was really starting to get concerned that I would have to go through this entire night in pain! When I finally admitted I wasn't as strong as I thought I was, I called labor and delivery to see if I could go to a smaller civilian hospital up the road. They said no, go ahead and come in here... we will check you out and see where you are. I was thinking, you are crazy, I will deliver on the side of the road if I have to drive all the way there!

At that point Josh packed up the girls and took them to a friends house, making it home in record time! On the road at 10 pm headed towards NNMC, I felt every bump, stopped at every red light and almost cursed every slow car! We arrived at the ER and a very kind gentleman had a wheel chair waiting and rolled me up to L&D as quickly and smoothly as possible! (At this point I felt like I was on an episode of "The Baby Story." LOL)

Clocking in at 5 cm and contractions coming every 4 minutes, I calmly let them know I was ready for the epidural... minutes later I had already progressed to a 6, made it into a birthing room and was talking to the Anesthesiologist! Thank God for epidurals, I was able to get a little rest!

By the next afternoon I had not progressed past 7 cm, giving them the oppurtunity to start inducing with Pitocin. This increased the intesity of the contractions considerably, fortunalty it didn't affect me much since I was already comfortable. A few hours later we had made it to 9.5 cm and were very excited that we would start pushing very soon! WRONG! 4hours later we were still there and weighing our options of giving it more time or having a c-section! The epidural was starting to wear off a little at this time and I was ready to be done! I said get me in the OR as quickly as possible... within 30 minutes the blue sheet that covered my view was going up and Josh was joining me for the birth of our baby. As they pulled her out I heard, "There is no way she was going to deliver this big baby!" At 8 lbs, 10.2 oz and 21 inches long, Brynn turned out to be bigger than anyone thought!
